We have learnt with deep sorrow the untimely death of Mr. Amirali Karmal (Mukwano).

The nation has lost a diligent business leader who contributed immensely to the development of Uganda. He initiated various Companies, including Mukwano Group of Companies. The late Amirali has been a leading entrepreneur who sustainably managed his business. He strongly advocated for empowering locals with inputs, especially in the tea and sunflower sub-sectors. The late Amirali believed in value addition as the best way to sustain and grow the economy and he loved Uganda where he left a legacy.

On behalf of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, and on my own behalf I send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

We spiritually join you in prayer that the almighty God gives you strength to bear the grief.

May his soul rest in eternal Peace.
