Malac to discuss the progress of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) program in Uganda, as Uganda prepares for the AGOA review. The theme for the year 2016 is “Cooperatives: The power to act for a sustainable future”. Uganda is sending a delegation of business persons to Italy as one of the initiatives to strengthen the trade relations between the two countries and open up more market opportunities for Uganda products. Frederick Gume called upon members of the Cooperative movement to participate in planting trees and contribute to environmental protection and mitigation against climate change. The first ever National Cooperatives Week was launched by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, ahead of the 94th UN International Day of Cooperatives Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday 2nd July, 2016.
