Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde meets Singapore Minister of State for Trade and Industry Singapore has cautioned Uganda not to loose its agricultural sector to the mining industry especially to the newly discovered oil. The caution was made by the Singaporean Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Hon. Dr. KohPoh Koon, during a meeting with Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde. Uganda Hosts Northern Corridor Integration Projects
Uganda is hosting the 13th Northern Corridor Integration Projects Summit scheduled to take place on April 22-23, 2016 at Speke Resort Munyonyo under the Chairmanship of H.E. President Yoweri Museveni. The Summit will be preceded by a Ministerial meeting on April 21, 2016 and a Senior Officials’ meeting on April 19-20, 2016. These meetings will review the status of implementation of the Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP) since the last Summit held in December 2015 in Kigali, Rwanda. Government Hands Over Bugisu Cooperative Union Ltd
Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives handed over the management of Bugisu Cooperative Union (BCU) ltd to a new Board of Directors. BCU has been under Government Caretaker Management since 2010 when the Board of Directors was suspended due to allegations of mismanagement and financial misconduct. Mr. Willy Wepukhulu has been managing BCU as a Caretaker Manager under the supervision of the Commissioner of Cooperatives.
