The first ever National Cooperatives Week was launched by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, ahead of the 94th UN International Day of Cooperatives Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday 2nd July, 2016. The launch took place at Constitutional Square in Kampala as members of the Cooperative Movement donated blood in fulfillment of the 7th International Cooperatives principle – “Concern for Community”. Uganda has Surplus Sugar
Uganda has a surplus of 36,000 metric tonnes of sugar. Uganda exports on average over 0.8m bags of coffee annually to Sudan, making it the leading importer of our coffee in Africa for the last 15 years.
