Africa Industrialization Day 2021 Commemorated
On Friday 19th November 2021 Uganda led by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives commemorated the African Industrialization day. Under the theme “Inclusive and sustainable Local Manufacturing”. On the same day, the Vice President H.E Jessica Alupo who represented the President as the Chief Guest launched the Green Manufacturing Strategy and National Industrial Database and Information portal.
The Minister State Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Industry), Hon. David Bahati encouraged all the manufacturing firms to adopt and implement the Green Manufacturing Strategy and urged the media to disseminate this strategy. He also added that manufacturing enterprises need to control pollution, improve energy efficiency or use alternative energy sources and adoption of green technologies.
Ms. Geraldine Ssali the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives emphasized that the youth should be facilitated with resources and infrastructure to enable them better compete with the Foreign industries hence promoting Industrialization in the country
