The Minister of Trade Industry and Co-Operatives Hon. Amelia Kyambadde officially opened the Tax payers’ appreciation Week 2019 taking place at the Kololo Independence ground.

She thanked the URA for its excellent performance last Financial Year 2018-2019.She said this is a reflection of the effort invested in improving the Tax administration measures to reduce on leakages in revenue collection. She went ahead to thank the SME’s for immensly contributing to the growth of the economy.

The Minister Appealed to URA Management to consider tax exemption on start-up businesses especially those on agri-business value chain;

She also asked that they consider Presumptive tax; consider Enforcement of stringent and punitive action on non-tax compliant companies and promote continuous sensitization on tax incentives and compliance.
