The first ever National Cooperatives Week was launched by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, ahead of the 94th UN International Day of Cooperatives Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday 2nd July, 2016.

The launch took place at Constitutional Square in Kampala as members of the Cooperative Movement donated blood in fulfillment of the 7th International Cooperatives principle – “Concern for Community”.

 

During the launch, Hon Kyambadde urged cooperators to participate in the National Cooperatives Week activities in order to increase awareness on cooperatives and promote the movement's successes and ideals of international solidarity, economic efficiency, equality and world peace.
